According to the new rules set by the Authorities, facemasks are mandatory for everyone:
i.indoors (inside buildings, on-board during flight, during pre-flight interior check etc.) and
ii.outdoors in overcrowding conditions

2021-06-03: Restarting of aerosport activities - June 2021
According to the new rules set by the Authorities, flights to destinations other than Dekeleia Airport are permitted as well. Maximum POB (persons on board)=2 restriction for all flights is still in force.

2021-12-08: ANNOUNCEMENT of 27th Constitutional Assembly

Dear member,

The administration board of Aeroclub Mesogeion invites you to the Constitutional Assembly to vote for the new and final text of Constitution of the Aeroclub. The Assembly will initially take place on Monday 24 of May 2021 - 21:00 local time (18:00 UTC) through the ZOOM application. If no quorum is obtained, the meeting will take place after 7 (seven) days at the same place, same time, with the same means, ie on Monday 31 of May 2021 - 21:00 local time (18:00 UTC) through the ZOOM application. Please note that your participation at the Constitutional Assembly is vital as the amendment of the Constitution requires a strong quorum by Law.

2021-02-28: 26th GENERAL ANNUAL MEETING of AEROCLUB MESOGEION
The 26th Annual Meeting of Aeroclub Mesogeion took place on 28/02/2021 via zoom. A summary of 2020 activities presented by the Administration Board, as well as the 2021 plan. The process was done according to the memorandum of the club, the administration board awarded graduates and SOLO pilots. The Administration Board would like to thank all our members!

2021-02-18: Restarting of aerosport activities - February 2021
According to the new rules set by General Secretariat of Sports, access to the airport and the facilities of the airclub is allowed (EXCLUSIVELY FOR FLIGHT) to pilots (students and licence holders) who reside within Attiki. All members are kindly requested to carefully study the revised (changes in paragraph 2.2.2.c) protective measures to avoid the spread of COVID-19. At the moment, introductory-demo flights as well as leisure flights with passengers are prohibited.

2021-01-05: Restarting of aerosport activities - January 2021
Aeroclub Mesogeion announces the restart of aerosport activities. At the moment, access to the airport and the facilities of the airclub is allowed (EXCLUSIVELY FOR FLIGHT) to pilots who reside within the Municipality of Acharnes, and to air-athletes of our airclub who reside in Attica. In case of transition to another phase, there will be a new announcement. All members are kindly requested to carefully study the revised bulletin.

2020-12-09: 20 years flights with Aeroclub Mesogeion
20 years ago, on 09/12/2000 and 09:20 local time, the 1st flight of the Aeroclub Mesogeion was performed in Tatoi. Tsopelas Anastasios was in control of the Cessna 150E SX-ANR.

A few flights followed in December of the same year at Tatoi airport and then, in April 2001, our Aeroclub was transferred to Ellinikon for one year. In April 2002, the Aeroclub returned to Tatoi. In total, from 09/12/2000 until today, 15848 flights have been performed.

The administration board of Aeroclub Mesogeion invites all members at the 25th annual special meeting of our association on Friday 11/12/2020, at 18:00. 2020-11-03: Suspension of sport activities
According to relevant instructions from official authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19, aerosport activities have been suspended. Currently, only remote theoretical courses are allowed. We are constantly in touch with the competent authorities and will keep you notified of any developments.

2020-05-24: Restarting of aerosport activities
Aeroclub Mesogeion will set in force its own plan of restarting aerosport activities, in absolute compliance with Government plan and competent authorities. The starting phase is Phase A, effective date 25/05/2020. The transition to the next phase (B) will be announced soon. All members are kindly requested to carefully study the protective measures to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

2020-05-11: Latest news about suspension of sport activities
We inform you that until further notice and in accordance with the current NOTAMs and the instructions and suggestions given by the competent authorities, flights are not allowed. Currently, only remote theoretical courses are allowed. We are constantly in touch with the competent authorities and will keep you notified of any developments.

2020-03-25: Covid19-outbreak: Extension of validity and other time periods
According to HCAA bulletin, from 24/03/2020 extension of validity and other time periods for licences, ratings, privileges, endorsements and certificates is in force. Thus, PPL(A) holders with valid SEP(land) (or/and IR(A)/SP/SE) may extend the validity of the SEP(land) rating after receiving a briefing from an instructor. Upon successful completion of the briefing the new expiry date may be endorsed in the licence of the pilot by an authorized instructor or examiner or HCAA. The validity period of the ratings as well as the medical class 2 is extended by 4 months or until 26/11/2020 (whichever is the shorter period of time), while for the language proficiency endorsements the validity period is extended until 26/11/2020. 2020-03-25: EASA PART FCL updates
During March of 2020 a couple of changes concerning air crew regulations (EASA PART FCL and AMC/GMs) have been announced. For PPL(A) holders and student pilots most important changes are:

-For general aviation recording of flight time may be done (under conditions) in electronic format
-The refresher training flight concerning SEP(land) revalidation should be based on the exercise items of the proficiency check
-New syllabus for Meteorology and Night Rating

2020-03-14: Suspension of sport activities
According to relevant instructions from official authorities to prevent the spread of COVID-19, sport activities have been suspended in general. Therefore, aeroclubs flight activities have been suspended as well from 14/03/2020 onwards.

2020-03-12: Tatoi Security Measures
According to the relevant letter of 123 STE and following the communication with the Security Office of the Tatoi Air Force, all our members are requested to send us, by Sunday 29/03/2020 16:00 the following documents that will be forwarded to the Tatoi Security Office:

1) Photocopy of ID or Passport
2) Law 1599/1986 Declaration with signature official authentication PDF - WORD

Please send us the above documents scanned (preferably colored) by email at info@mesogeion-aeroclub.gr, or in person at Tatoi. For the latter, please contact us.

2020-03-12: Consent Declaration
Dear Members,

In the context of harmonizing our Airclub with the recent General Data Protection Regulation, all members registered before 02/03/2018 must fill out, sign, and submit the Consent Declaration form no later than Sunday 05/04/20 16:00. Please send us the above document scanned by email at info@mesogeion-aeroclub.gr, or in person at Tatoi.

If we do not hear from you before the deadline, we will consider that we do not have your explicit Consent to keep your contact details or other information. Therefore, we will delete your contact details and information currently held in our records, as well as terminate your airclub membership.

This process is essential in order to ensure that we comply with the Law while respecting your personal data.

We appreciate your understanding and remain at your disposal for any clarification.

2020-02-23: 24th GENERAL ANNUAL MEETING of AEROCLUB MESOGEION
The 24th Annual Meeting of Aeroclub Mesogeion took place on 23/02/2020 at the building of the Association of Greek Archeologists, in Athens.

During 2019, we logged more than 1400h flight hours, while we participated in several General Aviation and Aeromodelling Competitions.

During the Annual Meeting, we awarded new PPL(A) graduates, PPL(A) soloists, VFR Night Qualified pilots and Instrument Rated pilot, we set and discussed the goals for 2020.

The process was done according to the memorandum of the club, the administration board awarded graduates and SOLO pilots. New Administration Board and Election Board elected. The photo-clip of 2019 presented by the administration board.

Reminder: According to club's Memorandum: Article 6, par. 3. The annual fees must be paid during the beginning of the year and particularly during the first fortnight of the month of January each year.

2019-10-15: Local GA Competition Flights, tatoi 16-17/11/2019
Local GA Competition Flights will take place at A/D of Dekeleia on 16/11/2019 (alternate date 17/11/2019).

The deadline for the declaration of participation is 14:30 local time of 8 November 2019.

Our airathletes who would like to participate, are kindly requested to contact us for the declaration of participation which must be submitted to our club until 06/11/2019.

Our pilots who want to be registered as airathlets are kindly requested to contact us for the airathlet registration application until 02/11/2019.

All athlets who are going to participate in the Competition must have their health card updated (until the day of the competition).

2019-10-01: Aeromodelling meeting - Sunday 20/10/2019 10:30 a.m. at Tatoi.

In order to get in touch with members, but also with non-members, interested and / or involved in aeromodelling, we are planning an event on Sunday 20/10/2019 at 10:30 am at our headquarters at Dekelia Air Base. Those of us who have a model can have it with us.

2019-07-01: Local GA Competition Flights, Mesologion
Local GA Competition Flights will take place at A/D of Mesologion during 19-21 July 2019.

2019-06-15: 1st Panhellenic Gathering of Scale Airmodels

During the weekend of 15-16 of June 2019, the "1st Panhellenic Gathering of Scale Airmodels" took place at the models court at Moudania. Modelers came from all around Greece; Thessaloniki, Kozani, Ptolemaida, Larissa and Athens.

The event was held in good weather conditions and on a very well prepared and maintained models court next to a well-known touristic area. Flights were made throughout the whole day and were followed by barbeque and live music on Saturday night!

Our Aeroclub participated with our aeromodeler Ath. Dardaganis flying his F-5 and statically with the models of F-5, C172 SX-ASG and Viperjet.

A big "Thank you!" to "EAM" and all those who made this nice event happen.

2019-05-11: 14th National Demonstration of aeromodels
On 11 and 12 May 2019, our Aeroclub participated in the 14th National Demonstration of aeromodels at 111CW in Nea Anchialos. Modelers from Italy, Corfu, Kozani, Ptolemaida, Larissa, Volos, Athens, Chalkida and Zante participated.

The participation of the fellow Italian modelers amazed everyone with their two full-scale models; one of an F16 and one of an MB345, both made in every detail, the F16 being a perfectly detailed model of an HAF F16 of 111 CW.

Once again, we would like to thank the Magnisia Aerosport Union for the impeccable organization of an event that brings together the modelers from all over Greece, maintains and enhances the relationship of the modelers with the HAF and further communicates the aviation spirit to the general public.

2019-02-24: 22cd GENERAL ANNUAL MEETING of AEROCLUB MESOGEION
The 22cd Annual Meeting of Aeroclub Mesogeion took place on 24/02/2019 at the building of the Association of Greek Archeologists, in Athens. 2018 was yet another great year for our Aeroclub.

During 2018, we logged 1427:25h flight hoursand we took part in several General Aviation and Aeromodelling Competitions.

During the Annual Meeting, we awarded 12 new PPL(A) graduates, PPL(A) soloists, VFR Night Qualified pilots and Instrument Rated pilot, we set and discussed the goals for 2019.

2018-05-26: Local GA Competition Flight A/D Maleme, Chania, Crete - RESULTS
3rd Cup in a row for our Aeroclub! Flying the SX-ASV, George Fountoukos and Dimitris Bretas conquered the 3rd place in the Local Competition Flights, that took place at Maleme A/D, Chania, Crete, on Saturday 26/05/2018.
Congratulations to all crews who took part in the competition and to the organizers of the wonderful event. See you all soon!

2018-05-12/13: Participation in the 13th Greek Demonstration of Aeromodelling
For yet another year, during the weekend of 12 and 13 May 2018, Mesogeion Aeroclub was present in the 13th Greek Demonstration of Aeromodelling, at the 111CW in Nea Anchialos.

The weather was good, with a wind of 5-10 kt on the runway and our mini SX-ASG made a... training flight.

A big thank once again to AEMA and to 111 CW for the impeccable organization and hospitality

2018-04-04: National Rally Flying Competition
Between 20 and 22 April, 2018, the National Rally Flying Competition will take place at Maritsa Airport, Rhodes.

2018-03-03: 3rd Hellenic jet meeting Mesologgi
On the 3rd and 4th of March, the 3 rd Hellenic jet airplane meeting was held in Mesologi for 2018. Even more successful, with 30 participants from all over Greece. Visitors have seen high-end models technology, enjoyed the sound of jet engines, maneuvers with many g, high speeds. The meeting has been established as an official event of ELAO.

Aeroclub Mesogeion participated with its member and air modelist Thanassis Dardaganis.

Many congratulations and thanks to the organizing committee, the local aeroclub and ELAO Aeromodelling Committee.

2018-02-25: 21st GENERAL ANNUAL MEETING of AEROCLUB MESOGEION
The 21st Annual Meeting of Aeroclub Mesogeion took place on 25/02/2018 at the building of the Association of Greek Archeologists, in Athens. 2017 was yet another great year for our Aeroclub.

During 2017, we logged 1362:40 flight hours in 1202 flights, new safety procedures were imposed, the GNS430 GPS was installed in SX-ASG and we took part in several General Aviation and Aeromodelling Competitions.

During the Annual Meeting, we awarded 8 new PPL(A) graduates, 9 PPL(A) soloists, 2 new VFR Night Qualified pilots and 1 new Instrument Rated pilot, we set and discussed the goals for 2018.

The process was done according to the memorandum of the club, the administration board awarded graduates and SOLO pilots.

Request for ground handling from Handling Companies

Due to the fact that the Ground Handling companies invoice sometimes the Aeroclub, even though they are paid by a pilot-private person and they are not order to invoice the Aeroclub, tax and accounting problems are incurred. It has been agreed between our Aeroclub and the Ground Handling companies to follow the procedure below:

In addition to contacting by telephone, the pilot who is about to visit an airport, for which handling is requested, will send an email to the Ground Handling company (email address per airport is provided by the handling companies) 24 or 48 hrs before landing to the destination airport, in which email the following information shall be provided by the pilot:

Date of Arrival
Estimated Time of Arrival
Airplane and type
Registration
Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW)
Number of passengers
Name and Surname of Pilot-In-Commant (can be followed by the pilot's AOPA ID and/or Aeroclub Mesogeion Member ID)
Date of Departure
Estimated Time of Departure

Note: If for specific reasons (and after consultation and approval from the Aeroclub's administration) the cost of the handling is to be paid by the Aeroclub (ex. Ferry flight, test flight, etc) and not by the pilot, the pilot shall explicitly state this to the email that will be sent to the Ground Handling company and an Invoice to the Aeroclub must also be requested. In this case, during the payment of the handling costs at the airport, the pilot is advised to remind to the handler that an Invoice to the Aeroclub must be issued and the proof of payment is received, which is later submitted to the Aeroclub's airport base (Tatoi) so that the respective amount is returned to the pilot.

Contrarily, in case that the handling cost is to be borne by the pilot, then the pilot pays the handling cost to the handling company and receives by default a simple payment receipt (not invoice). By no means should an Invoice be issued to the Aeroclub when the pilot is to bear the handling c.

Payment methods of flights, discount programs and services

The acceptable payment methods are:
a) Cash
b) Credit/Debit Card (VISA, American Express, MasterCard)
c) Bank Transfer to one of the following Bank Accounts:
- ALPHA BANK IBAN: GR4001402160216002002002019 BENEFICIARY: AEROCLUB MESOGEION
- PIRAEUS BANK IBAN: GR2901710070006007127442874 BENEFICIARY: AEROCLUB MESOGEION

Payments received via bank transfers, e-banking, or any other banking applications (e.g. Viva Wallet), need be made directly by the member (or the candidate member), whose full name will be clearly indicated on the transaction receipt, otherwise the transaction will not be accepted. In case of a new member or student pilot application, transaction receipts need be attached to the membership application form or be sent to our email address info@mesogeion-aeroclub.gr

Related banking costs are borne by the applicant (please, choose OUR when making a bank transfer). In case the depositor has not chosen to bear the transaction costs and the final amount received by the Aeroclub is less than the amount expected for the service being purchased, the related service will not be activated until the total payment of the due balance.

Example:
Bank transfer of 650€ to purchase a "Discount Program of 5hrs Prepayed with no time restriction" but OUR was not selected by the depositor. The Aeroclub receives 647€ from the Bank. The service will not be activated until the depositor pays the 3€ due.

In case of out-of-base refueling, the cost of flight is modified according to the difference of fuel cost per liter.

Examples:
a) Suppose the current MOGAS price in Tatoi is 1,66€ per liter and the pilot is refueling in Megara Airport with 30ltr of AVGAS at 2,82€ per liter. The pilot is paying to the fuel supplier 30 X 2,82€ = 84,60€. The Aeroclub returns to the pilot 30 X 1,66€ = 49,80€. In essence, the cost of the flight is increased by 84,60€ - 49,80€ = 34,80€.

b) Suppose the current MOGAS price in Tatoi is 1,66€ per liter and the pilot is refueling in Skopje with 100lt AVGAS at 1,25€ per liter. The pilot is paying to the fuel supplier 100 X 1,25€ = 125€. The Aeroclub returns to the pilot 100 X 1,66€ = 166€. In essence, the cost of the flight is decreased by 166€ - 125€ = 41€

Note: The pilot should tell the fuel supplier to issue an Invoice with the customer data of the Aeroclub and the pilot should receive a proof of payment. Upon arriving at our airport base (Tatoi), the pilot must submit the proof of payment to the Aeroclub in order to calculate the fuel difference and be given the respective amount.

2017-10-27: Safety Letter - Personal Electronic Devices (PEDs) use on board aircraft
Technological progress is constantly influencing facets of our society and especially our industry, which is a technological intensive one. General aviation is also subjected to such changes and therefore we have to look into any challenges associated with such changes. For us, this is certainly an exciting process since it offers a range of new possibilities and simultaneous access to a range of products, making our life - and our flights - a lot easier. But every change is capable of introducing a number of new risks to our environment, or can potentially release a number of latent risks already present.

This short publication aims at presenting safety material relevant to the use of such devices with a commentary which we consider to be an amalgamation of best practices. With respect to our own safety management system, we are making an effort to analyse and understand potential risks associated with the use of such devices.

The final results of Local GA Competition Flights of Dekeleia 29/04/2017 were announced. Aeroclub Mesogeion participated with 3 crews, and new air-athlets. The crew of our Aeroclub, Antony Manalis - Mantas G., who achieved the best score among our crews, was not charged the flight. Congratulations to all participants.

2017-04-02: Discount Program (min. 5h - 130eu/h) with C172
The Admin. Board of Aeroclub Mesogeion announces the new Discount Program of pre-payed 5h (minimum) with C172. The hourly cost is reduced to 130eu/h. The minimum total pre-payment for participation in the program is 650eu. There is no time restriction for the hours to be completed by the pilot. The standard cost (pay-as-you-fly) remains at 140eu/h.

Kyriakos Moutidis did his 1st SOLO on 17/03/2017 with SX-ASV, while Dimitris Tzortzis passed all the theory subjects of PPL(A) in one sitting on 28/03/2017. On 25/03/2017 the installation and ground and flight test of the new Garmin GNS430 completed succesfully for SX-ASG.

2017-02-28: February 2017
Student pilots: Ntzoidos Christos and Odysseas Charalampous obtained PPL(A) on 24/02/17 and 26/02/17 respectively. Dimitris Bretas did his 1st SOLO on 16/02/17 and passed all the theoretical subjects in HCAA exam center on 28/02/2017.

2017-02-19: 19th GENERAL ANNUAL MEETING of AEROCLUB MESOGEION
On 19/02/2017 the 19th Annual Meeting of Aeroclub Mesogeion at the building of Association of Greek Archaeologists took place in Athens. The process was done according to the memorandum of the club, the administration board awarded graduates and SOLO pilots, while a lot of gifts were given to members.

2017-02-05: 2cd JET model National meeting - Messologhi

The "2nd Jet Model Aircraft National Meeting" was held during the weekend of 4 and 5/2/2017 at the Messologhi Airport. The event was hosted by the Aeroclub of Messologhio, under the auspices of the Greek Air Sports Federation (ELAO). Representatives and active participants from the organizing bodies were the president of the Aeroclub of Messologi, Mr. Prevezanos, ithe President of the AirModeling Board of ELAO, Mr. Christos Leontaritis and its member, Mr. Spyros Varangoulis. The idea of the meeting of the Greek jet air athletes belongs to the member of the Agrinion Aeroclub, Mr Fotis Kalefras, who also shouldered the organization of the event.
