2024-07-20: New engine on SX-ASG

We are pleased to announce the return of SX-ASG to the Aeroclub's flying activities, following the completion of the installation and testing of the new engine.

2024-04-30: 32nd GENERAL ANNUAL MEETING of AEROCLUB MESOGEION

The 32nd Annual Meeting of Aeroclub Mesogeion took place on 29/04/2024 at Pikermi.
A summary of 2023 activities presented by the Administration Board, as well as the 2024 plan.
The process was done according to the memorandum of the club, the administration board awarded graduates and SOLO pilots.

2023-11-06: ANNOUNCEMENT of 31st SPECIAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY

Dear members,

The Administration Board of Aeroclub Mesogeion invites you at the 31st Special General Meeting of our association, that will be held on Sunday 19/11/2023, at 11:00, at 9 Kritis, Nea Ionia, PC 14231.

2023-10-21: Aeromodelling competition at Karditsa
Our Aeroclub participated again this year in the scale model airplane race in Karditsa on 21 and 22/10/2023. It was a successful race, with many entries from Sparta, Kalamata, Arta, Larissa, Volos, Athens. We were all given the opportunity to meet up close and enjoy scale models of real planes in a beautiful landscape, with excellent weather conditions.
We thank the local air clubs for the hospitality and the race organizers.

2023-10-14/15: Chorteron A/D General Aviation Competition 14 & 15 October 2023
On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 October 2023, the 2nd Round of the Greek General Aviation Cup 2023 was held at the Chortero airport in the Municipality of Sintiki, in which ten crews from six Aeroclubs took part in accordance with the National regulation G.A. "PRECISION LANDINGS AND CIRCLE TIMING" 2010 edition. The organization and conduct of the race as always was excellent at all levels and the crews had the opportunity to meet again in person and have a nice weekend. The crews of the Mesogeion Aeroclub won 3rd place with Foudoukos G. and Simos D. and 9th place with Papanikolopoulos G. and Papanikolopoulos D. Also, 2nd place for the crew of the Aeroclub of Serres with Mademlis I. and Papanikolaou X. and 1st place for the Hermes Aeroclub with Lorenzo Ronzi and Eugenio Ronzi who ran the race with the Mesogeion Aeroclub SX-ASG aircraft. Warm thanks for the welcome and hospitality at the Aeroclub of Serres and to all those who worked for the organization and preparation of the race!

2023-04-08: Aeromodelling competition at Volos
During the weekend 8-9 of April 2023, our member Thanasis Dardaganis participated in the Scale Aeromodelling Competition, in the category F4C – GR ARF, that was held at the modeling site of AEMA in Volos.
We thank the Aeroclub of Magnisia - AEMA for the hospitality and the ELAO Aeromodelling Committee for the organization.

2023-03-14: General Aviation Competition at Karditsa on April 2023
The AeroClubs of KARDITSA, ERMIS and MESOGEION, following their proposal and decision of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Aeronautical Federation (EL.A.O.), invite all aeroclubs, involved in the sport of General Aviation (GA), to take part in the GA Cup Competition. The Competition will be held at MIRINI airport on Saturday and Sunday 08-09/04/2023 (alternatively on Saturday and Sunday 22-23/04/2023) in accordance with the National Regulation G.A. 2023-03-11/12: General Aviation Competition at Tatoi
On 11 and 12 of March 2023, general aviation competition took place at Tatoi airport. A total of 32 crews from all over the Greece participated. Our club participated with 8 crews/16 airathletes, a record number in the history of our club. Several members of our club also volunteered to help the organizing commitee. The Board would like to thank all volunteers and congratulate all our crews/athletes who placed 12th, 13th, 17th, 18th, 20th, 24th, 25th and 26th in the rankings.

2023-02-18: General Aviation Competition at Tatoi on March 2023
The AeroClubs of ATHENS, DECELEA and MESOGEION, following their proposal and decision of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Aeronautical Federation (EL.A.O.), invite all aeroclubs, involved in the sport of General Aviation (GA), to take part in the GA Regional Competition. The Competition will be held at TATOI airport on Saturday and Sunday 11 and 12 MARCH 2023 (alternatively on Saturday and Sunday 18 and 19 MARCH 2023) in accordance with the National Regulation G.A. 2023-01-01: Cost of Subscription/Registration and flights booking.
From 01/01/2023 the cost of registration fee and annual subscription is 20 and 40 euros respectively. In addition, for flights booking PPL holders should contact at +30-6974776230 (phone call, SMS, or via Viber), while student pilots should contact their instructors directly.

2022-11-21: Safety Letter of Aeroclub Mesogeion ATO - Medicanes
The new Safety Letter of our ATO addresses the phenomenon of extra tropical and tropical-like cyclone appearing in the Mediterranean region known as medicanes. We emphasize the analysis in the area of eastern Mediterranean sea with local examples in order to demonstrate the relevance of the topic to our flight operations. Download the Safety Letter (pdf).

2022-11-05: The new t-shirt of Aeroclub Mesogeion
We are pleased to announce that our new t-shirt is available for our members! The new design is available in various colors and sizes, women's/men's cut and with various options regarding badges etc. Members interested to obtain new t-shirt may come to our facilities to try different sizes up close and choose according to their preferences the final design.

2022-11-05: Visiting Tanagra military base
On 05/11/2022 Mesogeion Aeroclub with SX-ASG represented by the Chairman Fountoukos Georgios visited Tanagra military base - 331 unit of the 114th Fighter Wing in celebration of the Air Force. Many people who visited the place had the opportunity to board in our Cessna 172. Our Aeroclub would like to thank GEA and 114 PM for the warm welcome and hospitality.

2022-10-22: Aeromodelling competition at Karditsa
During the weekend 22 - 23 of October 2022, the Scale Aeromodelling competition took part at Karditsa / Mirini airport. Thanasis Dardaganis represented Aeroclub Mesogeion at this competition. The organizing committee, the organized airport in a beautiful natural environment, and the good weather, contributed to the successful execution of the race. 2022-10-05: New COVID Protective Measures Bulletin - October 2022
The new bulletin of the Aeroclub Mesogeion on protective measures for COVID-19 was issued, the main change has to do with the use of the protective mask which is now non-mandatory (its use is recommended in overcrowding conditions).
At Mesogeion Aeroclub, the Administration Board as well as the personnel since the beginning of the pandemic have fully implemented the provisions and instructions of the Authorities for the protection of pilots, members, athletes and visitors in all activities (flights/sim sessions etc.). The club was constantly in contact with the Authorities, regularly updated its health protocol, and timely informed those involved about the few observed cases of COVID. The result was that there was never (as far as we know) any spread of the virus from club's activity.
We would like to sincerely thank all our members who have followed the protection measures issued by our club for so long (even if the bulletins were sometimes more strict than those of the Authorities). Note that, although masks are not mandatory anymore, the health protocol is NOT cancelled. So, for example, in par. 2.6.1 we mention that "Each person on board must carry at least one personal facemask or paper towels, and a personal plastic bag (in case of COVID symptoms after departure as described in par. 2.6.2.k)."

2022-09-23/25: Visiting Mesologi-Competition Flight
Between 23 and 25 of September 2022 we visited Mesologi with SX-ASG and SX-ASV in order to participate in the Annual General Aviation Competition. 23 crews from Greece participated in the competition flight (traffic pattern timing and precision landings). Read more..

On 9 and 10 of September 2022 we visited Karditsa and Agrafa mountains with SX-ASG. An unforgettable trip, with local flying at Myrini-Karditsa airfield, accommodation in the forest, hiking near the river, swimming near waterfalls etc. Read more..

2022-06-06: Dekeleia Airport/New working hours for aeroclubs
Dear members, we are pleased to announce you the new opening hours of Dekelia Airport for Aeroclubs:
1) Working days: 1430UTC-SS (summer season) and 1300UTC-SS (winter season)
2) Weekends and other offical holidays: 0530-1200UTC and 1430UTC-SS (summer season) and 0630UTC-SS (winter season)
3) During the working days and hours of the airport, take-offs to another airports or landings / arrivals from other airports are allowed.

2022-05-06: New COVID Protective Measures Bulletin - May 2022
Most important changes of the COVID bulletin as follows:
2.1.b Participants are asked to report their health condition immediately to the Accountable Manager, after participation in any activities in the previous 4 days.
2.2.1 Athlets previously diagnosed with Covid-19, should be examined specifically by a cardiologist, and they shall submit to the AM their examination results.
2.2.2 Flights as well as visits are allowed - booking is required for both cases. Unotified flights/visits are not allowed.
2.4.1.d Facemasks are mandatory indoors and outdoors in overcrowding conditions
2.7 In case of a leisure flight, the PIC is responsible for contacting with the passengers to confirm that they have no symptoms of COVID-19 (4 days or more after the flight).
2.8 Covid tests / certificates are not applicable.

All members are kindly requested to carefully study and follow the revised bulletin.

2022-04-19: New COVID Protective Measures Bulletin - April 2022
Paragraph 2.5.1 (Preflight inspection may include disinfection) have been revised. No restriction on POB number.

Facemasks are still mandatory indoors and outdoors at aeroclub's area according to General Secretariat of Sports. All members are kindly requested to carefully study and follow the revised bulletin.

2022-02-27: 28th and 29th GENERAL MEETINGs of AEROCLUB MESOGEION
The 28th Ordinary Annual Meeting of Aeroclub Mesogeion took place on 27/02/2021 via google meet. A summary of 2021 activities presented by the Administration Board, as well as the 2022 plan. The process was done according to the memorandum of the club, the administration board awarded graduates and SOLO pilots. Then, the 29th Constitutional General Meeting took place for the approval of the Memorandum of the club. The Administration Board would like to thank all our members!

2022-02-12: General Aviation Competition - Tatoi
General Aviation Competition (precision landing and traffic pattern timing) was took place on 12/02/2022 at Tatoi airport. 32 crews participated, 5 of them under Mesogeion Aeroclub.

Our crews rank: 3rd, 7th, 10th, 17th and 21st position. Congratulations to all crew members as well as to organizing committee.

2022-02-12: "Tsopelas Anastasios" award - Tatoi
On 12/02/2022, at Tatoi, Lioumis Georgios and Bisikeas Nikolaos were awarded for their best performance in an internal "rally flying"-training that took place in 2021. The race included precision navigation, photo spot finding, timing and precision landing. A total of 4 crews participated in this rally. The duration of the navigation flight was 26 minutes with 6 checkpoints / turns. Transponder mode-S was used to record and export the results, as well as the tracking feature of aero_webgis v.4.9.0.

We note that our Aeroclub awarded "Tsopelas Anastasios" cup based on the results of this internal race-training, since due to the COVID pandemic in 2021 official competitions/rallies were not conducted.
